With nearly a majority of incoming college students favoring legalization, more than a dozen states with permissive legislation, and law enforcement moving on to other priorities – marijuana should seem like a no-brainer on college campuses. Right? Not so much. Pot is a big issue on campuses right now, and student leaders need to figure out where they sit on the issue.

You have brothers causing problems, but you can’t make them leave because your alumni demand you have every bed in the fraternity house filled. That’s a problem. You need to get busy implementing some strategies NOW so that you can fill your house while retaining the ability to hold your members to certain standards of behavior. That means recruitment, it means having funds set aside to make drastic moves feasible, and it means talking to your alumni to find a workable solution. At the end of the day, a troublemaking brother is a lose-lose for everyone involved.
